THE SERVER RULEBOOK
Good people.
Fair adventures.
Every world has its own rules. Know what’s protected before you build, trade, or battle.
Across HoozVerse
A good community starts with how we treat each other.
Respect the people behind the players
No harassment, hate speech, threats, or sharing someone else’s private information. Keep chat welcoming and avoid spam.
Play fairly
No hacked clients, x-ray, duping, or exploiting bugs. If something seems broken, report it privately to staff through Discord rather than sharing an exploit publicly.
Know which world you are in
Survival, Factions, and Prison have different combat, protection, and death rules. Read the rules for your game before building or fighting.
Follow staff guidance
Staff can help with reports and questions. Use Discord if you need clarification or want to discuss a moderation decision.
Survival
Build, explore, and progress at your own pace.
Respect towns and claimed land
Use /claim tool to get a golden shovel. Right-click two opposite ground corners, review the outline, then /claim confirm. Your personal rectangle allows up to 100 ground blocks and protects from bedrock to sky. /claim show reveals yellow boundaries for 30 seconds; left-click with the tool to inspect ownership. Keep claims outside protected towns and respect other players’ land. Town safety continues only 10 blocks beyond the gold border, with the marked arena exception.
Open arena; peaceful wilderness
PvP is automatically enabled inside the marked arena; no duel invitation is needed. Town and wilderness have no PvP. Both players must be inside the arena to fight. Arena deaths keep inventory and experience.
One daily quest
Talk to Whiskers or use /dailyquest. The quest rotates and resets at midnight Pacific. Completing it earns a Quest Key; unfinished progress expires at the reset.
Travel and your starter kit
The Wandering Explorer gives five wooden tools and five cooked porkchops once. Random wilderness travel can be used again after five minutes. Chat teleports such as /home and /spawn have a three-second delay. Survival players can use /back to return to their last saved location, including where they died or left with /spawn. Combat restrictions still apply.
Factions
Town is a refuge. Beyond its borders, prepare to defend yourself.
Town and its surroundings are protected
No griefing inside the gold town border. Combat safety continues 7 blocks beyond gold, except in the marked south arena. Outside that safety buffer, wilderness PvP and raiding apply.
Open PvP and raiding
In the wilderness, PvP, raiding, and griefing are allowed. Neither wilderness combat nor the Factions arena requires a duel invitation. Death normally drops your items and experience.
Choose your personal claim boundaries
Use /claim tool, right-click two opposite corners with the golden shovel, then /claim confirm. One personal rectangle allows up to 100 ground blocks and extends from bedrock to sky. /claim show displays yellow boundaries for 30 seconds. Only you and trusted builders can directly edit it. PvP stays enabled; chests and doors remain lootable.
Claims can be breached
TNT launched from outside a claim can damage blocks inside it. Build defenses and do not treat a claim as a guarantee against raiding or looting.
Faction territory and trust
Use /f tool to select two opposite corners, then /f confirm. Leaders and officers share a total allowance of 400 ground blocks per faction member. New rectangles must touch existing territory along an edge. Every claim extends from bedrock to sky. /f claim show displays your faction borders in purple for 30 seconds. Faction membership does not grant access to private personal claims. Friendly fire is disabled.
Do not escape combat by disconnecting
Combat tags last 15 seconds after the last hit. Teleporting and retreating into safe town are blocked while tagged. Logging out during combat kills your character and drops your items.
A deliberately basic shop
The merchant offers basic materials. Obtain gear, food, and valuables through gameplay. The Explorer’s one-time kit is five wooden tools and five cooked porkchops; repeat random travel has a five-minute cooldown.
Prison
Earn your freedom, then build a protected home beyond the prison walls.
Mine only in designated mine areas
Inside the prison, mine only in areas unlocked by your mine rank. Walls, signs, ladders, cells and decorations are protected. In Freedom, ordinary building and gathering are allowed outside the protected village and other players’ claims.
Mine, sell, rank up, prestige
Progress through A–Z with /mine and /rankup. Prestige keeps its full Shillings balance wipe; your armor and inventory stay. Prestige permanently unlocks /freedom and /prestigemine. There is no additional Freedom entry fee.
Cells are rented for seven days
Cell tiers are located at mines D, I, N, S, and X. Players may rent one cell at a time. Higher tiers offer larger spaces and more storage at higher prices.
Renew or remove your belongings
Rentals require manual renewal. If your rental expires, its stored items are lost. Renew in time or take your belongings out before expiry.
Renting does not grant building permission
Cell rentals include their assigned storage and access. They do not allow you to place or break blocks.
Freedom homes and land claims
After Prestige, Peon receives one Freedom home and one rectangular claim of up to 400 ground blocks, protected from bedrock to sky. Use /claim tool, right-click two opposite corners with the golden shovel, then /claim confirm. Prison supporter ranks increase claim and home counts: Squire 2, Knight 3, Baron 4, Duke 5, Sovereign 6. Each claim has its own 400-block allowance. Set homes inside your own claims. Only owners and trusted players may edit builds or access storage.
Freedom combat and village
The small Freedom village has a general merchant and is protected. PvP is allowed only in unclaimed wilderness. A 15-second combat timer blocks escape teleports, commands and ender chests; tagged players cannot enter safe claims or the village. Normal survival deaths in Freedom drop items. Use /freedom help for commands.
